Addo is 72 kilometres northeast of Port Elizabeth, near the Zuurberg range in the Sundays River valley. The Addo Elephant National Park is one of South Africa’s notable Conservation success stories.  The Addo Park’s environment is quite different from most other game reserves in South Africa.

Supporting more than 350 elephants and the last natural wild population of Cape buffalo is covers an expanse of Valley Bushveld vegetation, dense Addo bush charaterised by the tough, woody spekboom, a favourite food sources for the elephants.  The Addo National Park which was first proclaimed in 1931 to protect the survivors of the Ivory Hunters, now is home to the Big Five and has about 185 species of birds.

Guests make drive through the park in normal sedan vehicles or take a game drive Tour with experience rangers and field guides.  The park has a variety of accommodation with self-catering facilities as well as camp sites.  There is also a restaurant in the Main rest camp.

Located within Addo are concessions with luxury accommodation in private lodges and near to the park guests will find other lodges, Guest houses and Bed and Breakfast establishments, some of which offer day-trips into the parks too.
