AirVentures Hot Air Ballooning offers daily balloon flights, all year round, over the Cradle of Humankind, Magaliesberg, and selected game reserves. Our flights are customised to provide fun and excitement for anyone. We cater for the romantic couple to the larger groups, as well as corporate and incentive events. We offer two different flight packages, the Classic and Safari Flight experiences on either one of our larger passenger balloons or our Exclusive balloon flight for two: In line with traditional balloon flights, our Classic Flight offers guests the serene beauty of floating gently over the Cradle of Humankind or the Magaliesberg, while sipping on champagne, as the pilot allows the balloon at times to drift at tree top height and at other times will ascend into the skies, offering guests a panoramic view of the beautiful African landscape below. Our Safari Flight takes the Classic flight beyond traditional boundaries, and is the ultimate in game viewing experiences. Approximately 80% of our flights have sightings of at least two of the Big Five within the hour’s flight. The flight launches from the heart of the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve and usually covers a large portion of the Reserve before moving into the surrounding game reserves, offering guests unique game viewing and photographic opportunities. CLASSIC FLIGHT In line with traditional balloon flights, our Classic Flight offers guests the serene beauty of floating gently over the Cradle of Humankind or the Magaliesberg, while sipping on champagne, as the pilot allows the balloon at times to drift at tree top height and at other times will ascend into the skies, offering guests a panoramic view of the beautiful African landscape below. We have launch sites located in the Cradle of Humankind and the Magaliesberg that have been chosen for their close vicinity to the majority of lodges in the area. Alternatively, we will launch from any lodge that is more convenient to the client, providing that the lodge has adequate space for the launching of passenger balloons. SAFARI FLIGHT Our Safari Flight takes the Classic flight beyond traditional boundaries, and is the ultimate in game viewing experiences. Approximately 80% of our flights have sightings of at least two of the Big Five within the hour's flight. The flight launches from the heart of the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve and usually covers a large portion of the Reserve before moving into the surrounding game reserves, offering guests unique game viewing and photographic opportunities. The Reserve is conveniently located within the world heritage site 'The Cradle of Humankind', and is an approx. 30 min drive from Joburg and 40min drive from Pretoria. GROUP FLIGHTS Our flights launch daily at sunrise, all year round, and we will cater for the romantic couple to the larger groups, as well as corporate and incentive events. Our passenger balloons accommodate 8 - 10 passengers per balloon, allowing each passenger one on one interaction with the pilot, giving the flight a personalised touch. We can accommodate groups of up to 100 guests, with 4 passengers needed to confirm a flight (these four passengers can be booked from two individual sources). EXCLUSIVE FLIGHT FOR TWO The Exclusive balloon flight offers a unique personal balloon experience in one of our smaller balloons, restricted to the use of two passengers only. This exclusive balloon hire adds to the romance of the flight, as you are able to enjoy the experience of drifting silently across the beautiful African landscape, while sipping on champagne, in complete privacy with your partner, watching a spectacular sun rise. You may feel free to interact with one of our experienced pilots, or you may chose to drift in silence with your loved one, giving the flight a very personal touch, and leaving you with fond memories.
