Avillahouse is centrally situated in the leafy suburb of Westville and just 10km from the Durban CBD and the new stadium. It is the ideal venue for a small, intimate conference or training facility. The tranquil surroundings make for an out-the-office setting without having to travel far. The venue can host up to 20 people and caters for half day and full day conferencing. The half day package includes tea/coffee/muffins on arrival, mid-morning (or afternoon) tea/coffee and eats and a finger lunch (or cocktail snacks). The full day package includes tea/coffee/muffins on arrival, mid-morning tea/coffee/savoury sandwiches, two course lunch and an afternoon tea/coffee and homemade biscuits. The venue has plenty of on-site, off street, parking. Conference facilities include flip chart/whiteboard and markers, water and mints. Tea/coffee is served on the wrap-around verandah or under the bottle brush tree by the swimming pool. A limited selection of cool drinks/ciders/wines is available for consumption with lunch at a small additional charge. Additional conference equipment is also available, at a nominal fee, please let us know your requirements in advance. Avillahouse also operates a B&B sleeping 12 people in 6 rooms making it ideal for hosting out of town business people.

Attractions

Avillahouse is located in Westville which is central to most of Durban. A short 10km drive into the CBD and the new soccer stadium makes it close enough to the action. Westville is well serviced by two main roads, the M13 and the M19 and is also close to the N3, national road.

The Pavillion shopping centre is a short drive down the road and two smaller malls also service the Westville area.

All of Durbans major attractions are only a short trip away such as uShaka Marine World, the Durban beachfront and the Moses Mabida soccer stadium with the stunning SkyCar that takes visitors to the top for great views of Durban.

Facilities

We have 6 en-suite double rooms, all air-conditioned with some having access to a separate entrance to ensure privacy. Our bedrooms are tastefully decorated, wrapped in 100% cotton linen, include DSTV and tea trays.


For a small intimate conference venue away from the bustle of the office look no further as we will cater for board meetings, seminars, training and management meetings. We have safe on-site parking for 20 cars.

FROM DURBAN ON THE M19 HIGHWAY: Take exit 10 off the M19 Highway – Dunkeld Road fly off. At the yield, turn left. At the traffic lights, turn left into Blair Atholl Road/Rodger Sishi Road. Pass the Spar on your right. 30metres after the next set of traffic lights, turn left into Perth road, first right into Waterloo road and then left into Wellington Road. FROM DURBAN ON THE M13 HIGHWAY: Take exit 12 – Westville/Blair Atholl Road fly off. At the traffic lights turn right into Blair Atholl Road/Rodger Sishi Road. Travel along for approximately 2km (if you get to the petrol station on the left – you have gone to far) and turn right into Waterloo and right into Wellington Road. FROM THE NEW KING SHAKA AIRPORT via the M19: Get onto the N2 South/Durban Highway. Follow the N2 Toll Road signs (R4.00 for the toll road). Continue straight following the N2 Durban, N3 Pietermaritzburg signs. Take Exit 170 - Inanda Road, Umgeni Road fly off. Go straight through traffic lights and at the next set of traffic lights, turn right onto the M19 Westville road. Take exit 10 off the M19 Highway – Dunkeld Road fly off. At the yield, turn left. At the traffic lights, turn left into Blair Atholl Road/Rodger Sishi Road. Pass the Spar on your right. 30metres after the next set of traffic lights, turn left into Perth road, first right into Waterloo road and then left into Wellington Road. FROM THE NEW KING SHAKA AIRPORT via the N3: Get onto the N2 South/Durban Highway. Follow the N2 Toll Road signs (R4.00 for the toll road). Continue straight following the N2 Durban, N3 Pietermaritzburg signs. At the interchange continue following N3 Pietermaritzburg/Johannesburg signs. Take the M32 Westville/Spine Road/St James Avenue fly off and turn right at the traffic lights, over the bridge. After the 3rd set of traffic lights, pass a church on the left and via left at the T-junction. This will take you into Jan Hofmeyr Road. At the next set of traffic lights, go right into Blair Atholl Road/Rodger Sishi Road. Travel along for approximately 2km (if you get to the petrol station on the left – you have gone too far) and turn right into Waterloo and right into Wellington Road.
